Support Worker
Our teams provide exceptional care and support for people with learning disabilities and / or autism spectrum disorder with mental health conditions, challenging behaviours, sensory impairment, physical disability and forensic backgrounds.
Our support worker roles are split into two different teams – those who are based at our care homes and those who support people out in the community. The key responsibilities are similar.
- Provide support in a way that is respectful, promotes dignity and independence.
- Provide support in any location appropriate to meet the needs of the people we support.
- Communicating with the people you support using appropriate communication methods.
- Assisting with individuals’ care, including personal care.
- Participating in the development and implementation of support plans.
- Assisting the people, we support with household activities.
- Administering medication to the people you support.
- Recording and completing any appropriate documentation.
Senior Support Worker
As a senior support worker your key responsibilities will be similar to a support worker, but with additional responsibilities. You will carry out specific duties assigned by the registered manager, including delegating duties to the support team.
As well as having increased responsibility, you will support and assist support staff where required or work alone with the people we support.

- Provide support in any location appropriate to meet the needs of the people we support.
Communicating with the people you support using appropriate communication methods.
- Assisting with individuals’ care, including personal care.
- Participating in the development and implementation of support plans.

- Ordering, receiving, storing and administering medication to the people you support.
- Participating, planning and running of the day-to-day events of the service.
- Recording and completing any appropriate documentation.
Healthcare Assistant

As a care assistant for Helping Hands, otherwise known as a visiting carer, you’ll drop-in on a number of customers each day, providing help around the home and with each of their individual care needs.
Personal care
Help with getting in and out bed, washing, bathing, dressing and, when necessary, help going to the toilet.
Overseeing medication
With appropriate training first and all based on the customer’s personal care plan.
Household chores
Help with tasks and chores around the home, such as vacuuming or preparing meals.
Running errands
Many of our customers require support getting out and about, so you’ll assist with tasks such as shopping or picking up prescriptions.
Companionship
Provide company for your customers, treating them with dignity, patience and compassion at all times.
Registered Nurse
Registered nurses play a huge part in providing professional input as part of a person-centred care plan. Nurses get involved in providing, managing, and co-ordinating clinical support for the people we support.
As well as assisting with the requirements of established support plans, you will develop nursing care plans to suit the specific needs of everyone.
- Providing clinical input and support for staff with the development of nursing care plans.
- Undertaking clinical procedures with the people we support in accordance with nursing care plans.
- Maintaining and developing nursing knowledge across a range of work procedures.
- Promoting and upholding standards of nursing care always.
- Providing verbal and written reports on the progress of the people we support to the care team.
- Providing supervision to care staff on a day-to-day basis.
- Co-ordinating with other Health Professionals and Medical Practitioners, as required.
- Assisting with the management of the staff team.
Domestic Assistant
To work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the care home, whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable environment at all times.
- Maintain the highest standards of efficiency and cleanliness within all areas of the care
- Have a sound working knowledge of the safe use of equipment and help maintain the equipment in good, clean, working order, by regularly emptying bags, correct storage of cleaning materials, equipment, etc.
- Have a sound knowledge of the Company’s policies and procedures, ensuring that working practice reflects the guidance provided.
- Have a sound knowledge of fire safety awareness, and the procedure to follow in the event of fire.
- When entering a resident’s bedroom, be mindful of the fact that the bedroom is the resident’s home. Dignity and privacy should be respected at all times.
- Have due regard and respect for resident’s personal belongings.
- Ensure a good knowledge of all chemicals used in the home, and use in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
- Plants should be kept watered and dead flowers removed before they become unsightly.
- Occasionally, it may be necessary to perform unpleasant cleaning duties. These duties are to be carried out with diplomacy, so as not to cause undue distress or embarrassment. to the resident.
- Ensure that cleaning schedules are followed, as directed by the Housekeeper.
